Today Microsoft has realeased a large batch of new Office products along with its new Vista software. I'm happy to announce that for the last 13 months I have been working with Avenue A | Razorfish in the creation of the illustrations for the front of box packaging of all of the Office products.

The agency took part in the design of the actual clear box, type and layout of the box as a whole and my task was to create the illustrations that represent each one of the almost 30 products Microsoft is releasing. This has been, by far, the longest project I've beeen involved with to date, but it's also been really great to be part of a process where the end product is seen world wide and in more than 70 languages.

I still don't have any photos of the real boxes to post online since I have yet to see them in person myself. But if you're curious, please visit microsoft.com and look around in the Office section. The link on Wikipedia is also a good reference. I'll be posting photos and digital previews as soon as I get a hold of the boxes. Hope you enjoy.

My long road trip through the US is coming to an end when we arrive next week in Portland. In the meantime some articles came out both on Computer Arts in England, this featuring several Brazilian Graphic Designers, including myself. And one in Brazil in the "Revista Web Design", which supposivelly has about 16 pages on my work.

I'd like to reinforce to everyone that since October 2004 I no longer have an association of any kind with the motion graphics studio "Nakd". Even-though the company was built on the work Linn and I designed and creative directed, the studio is now being run by another team of designers, so the work they produce does is not related to us and vice-versa.

My wife and I are planning a road trip over the summer. Our plan is to leave Boston heading south all the way to Florida, then head west until we reach California and then head up towards Oregon. During our trip we will visit the following States: CT, NY, DE, MD (DC), VA, NC, TN, GA, FL, AL, MS, LA, TX, NM, AZ, CA and OR. This is not something we plan on doing again so we don't want to miss anything that is really worth visiting. If you have any suggestions as for places we should go to, and that are on our path, please send me an e-mail to Nando @ nandocosta.com.
